USA Karate January 20, 2009

On January 18th, 2009 Gene Tibon the President of USANKF of Northern California,Inc. Regional Sports Organization and  RSO Vice President Chris Hiers hosted their first Federation 2009 membership drive and it's "Grassroots YDP" Karate practice.

The first 2009 Memberships Drive and Grassroots YDP Karate practice drew almost 100 athletes on it's first gathering from all over Northern California.  Vice President Chris Hiers provided the training location at Twin Arbors Racquetball Facility where we had a full basketball gym, and 4 racquetball courts for running the drills, Kata, and Kumite techniques for the different level of athletes in different racquetball courts.

The cost of the membership Drive was $55.00 for athletes, which included $5.00 for lunch, and a full years of USANKF Membership for 2009.  We had Coaches, Officials, and Dojos register, and partnership together in running 6 stations of various drills ran by the USANKF of Northern California Coaches.

We will be hosting a more of our Grassroots YDP Karate practices at various locations in Northern California developing athletes from Northern California to prepare them for the USANKF National Team Trials in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.  We will be taking our Northern California YDP athletes to various tournaments for preparation on the west coast before we make the trip to Florida in July 2009.
